HOW DO I REGISTER IN SPAIN:

Ideally, you should register as soon as possible after your entry into Spain. This is important because through registration, you can prove your stay in Spain.

CAN I REGISTER EVEN THOUGH I HAVE OVERSTAYED IN SPAIN:
Yes, you can register in the municipal register even if you do not have a Residence Authorization in Spain.
In this regard, to register, you do not need to be legally present in Spain. What is necessary here is to correctly prove your details to the Town Hall.

RENEWING REGISTRATION:
It is important to note that registration must be renewed every two years.
Non-EU foreign individuals without long-term residence authorization must renew their registration every 2 years from their registration in the Municipal Register or from the last renewal.
Renewals involve confirming the data already on the Register, including a declaration of continued residence at the address registered and the intention to renew the registration.

As we mentioned, it is important that once you have established your residence in Spain, you register at your Town Hall. Registration can be very helpful when applying for certain Foreigner Authorization, such as Social Integration.
