We receive hundreds of enquiries on how this can be arranged and in this article we would like to share with you which residency visa would be most suitable and the steps which need to be carried out to be able to obtain this.
So what are the main steps to obtain residency which will allow you to live in Spain and work remotely?
- The first-step is to have a job which permits you to be able to work remotely. If you have the skills then you might be able to offer services through websites like; freelancer, Upwork or Fiverr.
- Secondly you should know which location in Spain and which of the 17 independent communities would be best for you to be located.
- Lastly, you will need to apply for a residence permit which will allow you to be a resident in Spain and carry out remote work. For this, the Non-Lucrative residency is ideal.
If you can prove that you have at least 26,000€ in the bank together with a private health insurance, then you can obtain a non-lucrative permit for 12-months with renewal for a further 2 years, then another 2 years, followed by permanent residency under the conditions of a continuous residency.
