Unless you are currently in Spain and have been here since prior to 31st December 2020, you will need to apply for residency as per the options available for Non-EU citizens. - What types of residency are available?
Essentially there are three types of residency available for Non-EU citizens in Spain.
This will allow you either choose between an Investor-Residency, a Self-Employed Residency or a Non-Lucrative Residency. You can follow any of the following links to our-website or contact-us-here.
- How can you request one of these residencies?
It will be required to request each residency from your country of residency. This means that if you are a resident of the UK, your residency must be made during a meeting your local Spanish embassy where you will attend an interview and lodge your application together with all documents and translations required.

Permanent residency is obtained after 5 years of Spanish Residency through Self-Employed Residency or Non-Lucrative Residency or Residency through Investment. This followed by 5 years as a permanent resident and means you can then obtain Spanish Citizenship with a Spanish Passport.
